Connect TravelDay to your AI
TravelDay runs a remote MCP server at https://www.travelday.world/api/mcp. Add that URL to ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, VS Code or any MCP client, sign in to TravelDay, and approve what it may do. Importing your travel from email is free on every plan. Asking questions about your travel needs TravelDay Plus.

MCP server URL
https://www.travelday.world/api/mcp- Server URL:
https://www.travelday.world/api/mcp - Transport: Streamable HTTP.
- Sign-in: OAuth 2.1 with PKCE. There is no API key. Clients register automatically (CIMD or dynamic registration).
- Protocol versions: 2025-03-26, 2025-06-18, 2025-11-25, 2026-07-28.
- Price: import tools are free. Questions, edits and analysis need Plus.
- Disconnect: Settings, Connected apps, in TravelDay. One click ends the connection.
- MCP Registry name:
world.travelday/travelday
What it does
Your assistant gets the same tools as the assistant inside TravelDay. It answers from your real travel record instead of guessing.
- Import flights, hotels, rentals, trains, buses and ferries from your own email.
- Count days per country and check visa windows like Schengen 90/180.
- List visits, flights and trips, and summarise your travel by year.
- Add or correct a trip or visit, with your approval.
- Read safety scores and advisories for a destination.
What is free and what needs Plus
On the free plan your AI can import. With Plus it can import and answer questions about your trips, days and visas.
Free on every account: get_import_playbook, propose_email_bookings_for_review, propose_add_email_bookings_to_history, summarize_travel, get_travel_story. That is enough to import your travel from email, hear what was added and read back your travel story.
Everything else over MCP needs TravelDay Plus: questions about your days, visas and taxes, edits, flights, trips and safety.
Your imported history stays free to view and export in TravelDay, whatever plan you are on.
Set up your assistant
ChatGPT
Web, on a paid plan. Workspaces may need an admin to allow custom apps.
- 1On chatgpt.com, open Settings, then Security and login, and turn on Developer mode.
- 2
- 3Name it TravelDay and paste
https://www.travelday.world/api/mcpas the server URL. Leave authentication on OAuth. - 4Sign in to TravelDay and approve. Approve Write too if you want to import.
- 5Start a new chat, turn on TravelDay in the tools menu, and ask: "Use TravelDay to tell me how many countries I have visited."
Write actions depend on your ChatGPT plan and workspace policy. If the menus differ, follow OpenAI's setup guide.
Claude (web and desktop)
Any plan. One connection covers claude.ai, Claude Desktop, Claude mobile and Claude Code.
- 1Open Settings, then Connectors, and choose Add custom connector.
- 2Name it TravelDay and paste
https://www.travelday.world/api/mcp. - 3Sign in to TravelDay and approve the permissions you want.
- 4In a chat, press +, turn on TravelDay, and ask a travel question.
Claude Code
The terminal agent. Connectors you added on claude.ai also appear here when you use the same account.
- 1Add the server:
claude mcp add --transport http travelday https://www.travelday.world/api/mcp - 2Run
/mcpinside Claude Code, choose travelday, and sign in when the browser opens. - 3
Cursor
Desktop editor. Works in Agent chat.
- 1Use the install link below, or add this to
~/.cursor/mcp.json:{ "mcpServers": { "travelday": { "url": "https://www.travelday.world/api/mcp" } } } - 2Open Cursor Settings, find TravelDay under MCP, and sign in when asked.
- 3Ask in Agent chat: "Use TravelDay to list my trips this year."
VS Code (GitHub Copilot)
Copilot Chat in Agent mode.
- 1Use the install link below, run MCP: Add Server from the Command Palette and choose HTTP, or add this to
.vscode/mcp.json:{ "servers": { "travelday": { "type": "http", "url": "https://www.travelday.world/api/mcp" } } } - 2Start the server when VS Code offers, and sign in to TravelDay in the browser.
- 3Open Copilot Chat in Agent mode and ask a travel question.
Grok
Web, free tier included. Business accounts need an admin to add it.
- 1
- 2Choose New Connector, then Custom.
- 3Paste
https://www.travelday.world/api/mcp, save, then sign in to TravelDay and approve.
Any other MCP client
OpenClaw, Gemini CLI, Codex, Windsurf and others.
- 1Find MCP servers, Connectors or Integrations and add a remote server.
- 2Paste
https://www.travelday.world/api/mcp. Choose Streamable HTTP if asked for a transport, and OAuth if asked for auth. - 3Complete the TravelDay sign-in in your browser. There is no API key. A client asking for one is set up for a different kind of server.
- 4A typical JSON config looks like this:
{ "mcpServers": { "travelday": { "type": "http", "url": "https://www.travelday.world/api/mcp" } } }
OpenClaw: see the OpenClaw MCP guide.
Import your travel from email
Your assistant reads your mail through its own Gmail or Outlook connection. TravelDay never touches your mailbox. The assistant sends TravelDay the travel facts it found, nothing else.
- 1Connect your mail to the same assistant: Gmail or Outlook in ChatGPT, Gmail or Microsoft 365 in Claude.
- 2Connect TravelDay as above, with Write approved.
- 3Say: "Import my travel from email into TravelDay." In Claude and Claude Code you can also pick the Import my travel from email prompt.
- 4The assistant reads TravelDay's import rules first, searches by airline, hotel and travel-agency senders, and sends bookings in batches.
- 5Approve when asked. Confident past flights and stays go into your history; anything uncertain waits in your review list in TravelDay.
- 6Check the result in TravelDay. Each import is labelled with the assistant that sent it and can be undone in one tap.
What your assistant sends, and what it never sends
Unknown fields are rejected by the server, so a body or attachment cannot be sent even by mistake.
Sent to TravelDay
- Booking type and status (confirmed, changed, cancelled, declined)
- Provider, sender domain and booking reference
- The email's date and subject line
- Traveller names as printed
- Flights: airport codes, flight number, local dates and times
- Stays: check-in and check-out dates, city, country and property name
- Trains, buses and ferries: stations, cities and local dates
Never sent
- Email bodies, HTML, snippets or attachments
- Links, prices, card or payment details
- Passport, loyalty or phone numbers, or addresses
- Any email that is not a travel booking
You stay in control
- TravelDay asks you directly before writing to your history, in clients that support it. Other clients show their own confirmation first.
- Bookings that are uncertain, cancelled, or for someone else go to your review list. Nothing there counts until you approve it.
- Every import is labelled with the assistant that sent it, and one tap undoes the whole batch.
- Resending is safe. Bookings are matched on reference and dates, including against TravelDay's own inbox scan.
- Limits: up to 25 bookings per call and 40 calls a day.
- Email content is treated as data, never as instructions.
Permissions you can grant
You choose what to grant on TravelDay's approval screen. Each permission is separate.
- Read (
travel:read): travel history, day counts, trips, saved places and safety data. - Write (
travel:write): add or correct trips and visits. Needed for imports. - Delete (
travel:delete): remove trips and visits. Always asks first. - Evidence (
travel:evidence): search travel email TravelDay already holds and read evidence you select. - Journal (
travel:journal): your private travel stories. Never included in the others. - No permission opens your document vault, contacts anyone, or triggers SOS.
Every connection is listed under Settings, Connected apps with what it can do and when it was last used.
Email import skill
For the most consistent imports, install the travelday-email-import skill. It holds the full search and extraction rules.
Claude: Customize, then Skills, then upload the zip. Code execution must be on. Claude Code and Cursor: unzip into ~/.claude/skills/. ChatGPT: the rules arrive through the TravelDay tools, no upload needed.
No skill? It still works. The import tools hand your assistant the same rules on first use.
Download the skillIf it will not connect
- Paste the full URL,
https://www.travelday.world/api/mcp, with www and/api/mcp. Not/mcpor/docs/mcp. - Asked for an API key? Pick OAuth instead. TravelDay has no keys.
- After signing in you should see TravelDay's approval screen. If you land on the map instead, reopen the connection from your assistant.
- "Added" can mean saved but not signed in. Start a new chat and ask "Use TravelDay to tell me how many countries I have visited."
- "Plus is required" means the tool is not an import tool. Imports work on a free account.
- Corporate proxies can block the sign-in. Try a personal network.
- Still stuck? Email support@travelday.world with the assistant's name and the error.
Prompt for an AI agent
Paste this into any assistant that can add MCP servers, or hand it to an agent told to connect TravelDay.
Connect TravelDay as a remote MCP server.
Server URL: https://www.travelday.world/api/mcp
Transport: Streamable HTTP. Auth: OAuth 2.1 (browser sign-in, no API key).
If you cannot add servers yourself, give me the exact steps for this app from https://www.travelday.world/docs/mcp.
Once connected, call get_import_playbook before any import and follow its rules.
Then search my email for travel bookings and send them to TravelDay. Send only booking facts, never email bodies or attachments, and show me a summary before you send.Questions
What is the TravelDay MCP server?
It is a remote Model Context Protocol server at https://www.travelday.world/api/mcp. It lets AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor and VS Code read and update your TravelDay travel record after you sign in and approve.
Is connecting my AI to TravelDay free?
Importing your travel from email through your assistant is free on every plan. Asking it questions about your travel, editing your history and the other tools need TravelDay Plus.
Do I need an API key?
No. TravelDay uses OAuth sign-in. Your assistant opens a TravelDay sign-in page and you approve the connection there.
Can TravelDay read my email through my assistant?
No. Your assistant reads your mail with its own connection and sends TravelDay only booking facts: dates, airports, booking references, providers and traveller names. Email bodies, attachments and payment details are refused by the server.
Can I undo an import?
Yes. Every import is labelled with the assistant that made it, and one tap undoes the whole batch. Uncertain bookings wait in your review list until you approve them.
How do I disconnect an assistant?
In TravelDay, open Settings, then Connected apps, and end the connection. It stops working immediately.
